xp: only came home with 1 baby from NICU

Well Wednesday was supposed to be our big homecoming day for both Caroline and Nolan.  However, Nolan started having some breathing problems the night before and they decided it was best for him to stay.  They wanted to do a sleep study on him so the infant apnea center could determine what was causing his apnea spells.  It was really hard news to take, but I was happy we were allowed to take Caroline home.  I cried so hard when we had to leave Nolan.  Poor guy! 

Caroline is doing just amazing at home.  No problems at all!  Nolan is doing better too.  The results from his sleep study indicated his apnea is reflux related - not cerebral.   They think he may be able to come home on Monday or Tuesday - but with a monitor.  Looks like he just has some bad reflux issues which are causing him to have desats.  He's had a good last 48 hours, so  hopefully that will continue and we can have them both at home soon!

I can't imagine having to leave one there.  I just had my twins a week ago and we almost had to leave Gabi in the NICU after Eli and I came home.  I was a mess.  I just didn't know how I would handle it becase I wouldn't be able to take Eli up there, and I have two toddlers as well, my daughter being only 21 mos old, so not able to go see Gabi as well.  We all ended up getting DC'd together, thankfully!   

Good Luck to Nolan, hopefully you are all together very soon!

OMG Can I just say that after reading your subject, I'm sooooooooooooo happy to hear that both babies are thriving. I was scared.  My prayers are with your LOs. All my best!!
