target or walmart? I'm not looking for a forever set... I'm looking for a big boy set for ds for now. we don't own yet so I don't know what size he'll need then... so I'm looking at twins for now. I don't have the $$$ to shell out $2K not including mattresses for a set right now.... Whatcha think? that or if you're in NYC and know of a good discount shop (other than sleepys... I don't see anything I want from there on their online site).
thanks.
Re: would you buy a bedroom set from
NOOO... not bedding. dd's quilt and shams are totally Target and so cute and great... I'm saying the bedframe/headboard/footboard and dresser and nightstand. I am having trouble finding what I want... I found a bed frame at LLBean that's cute... and a similar one at Walmart... but at walmart, I can get the nightstand and a dresser for what just the bed costs at LLBean. and it has good reviews... it's just... I know the LLBean one would last forever. I just wouldn't be able to get a dresser right now. Which I guess he doesn't need right now.. we've been using closet organizers for him up to this point. hmmmm??? decisions.
maybe my kid has too many clothes then cuz we use his dresser... and it's full... I would go with the wal-mart set...
Sure! Why not?
DD's is from Ikea, which might be another inexpensive option for you.
lol... well, he has shelves in this closet, then hung clothes.. then a drawer under his crib. But I'm sure he will outgrow that storage space. ya know? hmmm... Maybe I should do a clicky poll. ???
There are a lot of option between WalMart/Target and LL Bean. We got our stuff at JCP, but we meant for it to be her forever furniture, so we spent more than you would at WM.
That all being said - i would defeinitely buy at Target. I think WM is WAY overpriced for the quality.
Rooms 2 Go also has a lot of cheap, fun-priced kids bedroom sets.
Both my kids have the "Captain's" bunks from Wal-mart. The whole bedframe was $119 and it has a bookcase at the top and 3 drawers underneath. It's made from pressed wood-stuff, not real wood. My DD has had hers for about 3 years -- it's held up just fine.
We looked at "real" furniture, and found that a lot of it was a mix of wood and pressed wood stuff, but cost more in the ballpark of $500. And real wood furniture -- forget it! There are lots of things I'd spend $1000 on (like a college fund) but not a bed for a 3 year old.
The Wal-Mart bed just made the most sense for us.
