Loveseat in a nursery--thoughts?

We are just starting to think about the configuration of the nursery, and using some of what we already have, etc.  Our house is older and sort of oddly put together, so the room that will be the baby's room is actually really big--the same size as the master bedroom.  We have a loveseat/foldout bed that we're not using right now and were thinking of using in the nursery as extra seating (and eventually using the foldout bed in it for sleepovers).  It's low to the ground and is padded/upholstered all the way around in a pretty durable fabric (we could slipcover it also).

Any thoughts on this?  You don't usually think of a loveseat as nursery furniture, so I'd love to hear what everyone thinks!

  • I think that's a great idea.  It would be comfy for feeding, reading, rocking baby to sleep and you could have more 1 person on there at a time- perfect for family time.

  • I think that sounds like a great idea!
  • My friend put their loveseat in the nursery.  It looks great - she just threw some pillows on it that match the theme - and it does not stand out at all.  If you have the space I think this is a great idea.  Very comfy!

  • We have a loveseat in our office right now, which will be converted into the nursery.  We're leaving it in and I think it will work great for the reasons you mentioned.  I'm just going to put some pillows and maybe a throw blanket on it that will help tie it in to the rest of the room.
  • Thanks everyone!  I think we will probably slipcover it, especially with all the spills/accidents that will inevitably happen.  So that's one decision down...eleventy billion to go Tongue Tied.
  • I think it will be nice as well!

I have a friend who bought a love seat instead of a glider and she wouldn't have it any other way.

  • I would love a little loveseat if our nursery had the room. The fact that it folds out into a bed is a fantastic bonus.

    I deinfitely say keep it.
