Well, I have a 4 year old who is in love with Monsters Inc so I automatically think Cee-Lee-Uh Wee-Lee-Uh. I like the name and even the longer Cecelia...
I say it closer to Seal-ya, but kind of in between the two, I think, if that makes sense. People w/ a Spanish speaking accent say it more like CEH-lee-yah, like Celia Cruz. I like this name a lot.
I would say SEAL-ee-uh. But quickly, so it would be like 2.5 syllables.
Me too. I first read Cecelia but realized it was just Celia, so I would say it like Cecelia w/out the first "se" sound.

I think of the character Celia on Weeds. I love the name, but I think I prefer Cecelia. I think both pronunciations are correct but you'd definitely hear Seal-ya more.

Re: If you see the name Celia...
I love this name! I have always heard it pronounced Seal-yah. Never the other way.
I think this is a cute name!
I would say see-lee-ah, though... like as in Cecelia
edit: so I agree with the second way you said!
this?

I agree, I'd say it with 3 syllables

This is the same for me.
I would say it the second way. See-leah. Like Cecelia.
I think the main character (Keira Knightly) in Atonement was Celia, or at least this is what it makes me think of.
