IVF with a toddler...anyone with experience?

I'm just wondering what to expect in terms of energy level/pain during the stims and the ER/ET.  She's VERY active, 3 1/2, and I just want to prepare myself with the proper supplies (movies, games, etc) to amuse her during this time!

  • there are probably a few over here, but you might get more responses over on SAIF.

I think schoolsoutbride (on this board) has a toddler and is in the midst of a cycle.

I was going to point you to schoolsoutbride too b/c she is currently in the 2WW of her IVF cycle.  Best of luck!

  • Thanks for the info about the secondary board...I post there too but there's more people doing IVF here than there :)  Thanks everyone!

  • I've been blogging about it. My DS just turned 3 in July. The biggest deal was not being able to pick him up. It was hard on both of us.  I was pretty sore during stimming, so I was glad to have a lot of help.

I couldn't have taken care of him by myself the day or ER or the next day, and there was the bedrest after ET.

  • My DD is 4 and I didn't really have trouble during stimming.  the day of the ER I was tired all day and DH watched her.  The day of ET same thing.  I have had a lot of cramping and fatigue since the ET 2/12 weeks ago.  I work a job where I stand mostly all day and lift heavy things so I am tired and crampy when I get home. DH has helped a lot.  I don't know if the cramping has been due to the BFP or the process of IVF.  I have really tried to take it easy at home since I can't at work.  The cramping isn't bad but I want to take it easy since I have had two m/cs.
