I had bought this valance to go in the nursery. It's not as long as I'd like, but it's cute and the characters make me smile. It's from Carter's Forest Friends theme:
Here's the valances I made to go with it:
I put the details on them in my blog. I just wanted to share because this was something that really made me excited about my nursery. It's been a long road to this point - as many of you probably understand.
Re: AW - my nursery project
I'm impressed with your sewing skills!
Very cute and they coordinate beautifully!
Ha ha ha. As I work on the curtains for my family room, I keep telling myself, " Ya know, if this pharmacy thing doesn't work out. . ."
But, I'm really slow - it gives you a whole new appreciation for commercially-available textiles when you do something like this yourself. The good thing is that I've learned a bunch about my sewing machine and all this cool stuff I didn't realize it did. I showed my husband the latest set of curtains and he was like, "You did that?" Well, yeah, the machine did the stitching; I just cut and pin it all together!
I like yours better..... Just a thought you could cut the one you bought and put an animal from it on your curtains then you have custom curtains that are long enough for all the windows. They are cute the way tha they are also.
I made plain white curtains and applicated butterflies in every color on DD curtains. I will try to remember to get a pic tonight.
You've done such a good job with the curtains!
I love that set -- the little owl is my favorite. Your nursery is going to be so cute!
