I have a confession to make, I have a new obsession with the Twilight series!! I had someone recommend that I read the series about a month ago, before then, I have no interest at all. So, before vacation I took out a few books from the library to read while I was on the beach. Well, I didn't get much reading done until the last day when I decided to read Twilight. I finished it the next day, and it probably would have been sooner if I had more time to read. Anyways, I am now obsessed. I am going straight to the library after work to take out New Moon, b/c I can't stop thinking about it. I also rented the Twilight movie over the weekend, and it is no comparison to the book, I wasn't crazy about the acting. However, I do plan to see the others when they get to the theater, starting with New Moon in November.
Anyways, I am so anxious to read the rest of the series. I can't wait to get home tonight and curl up with the next book! Did anyone else get this caught up in these books??
I must admit, this is a good thing, my big u/s is less than 2 weeks away, and reading the remaining three books should occupy my free time between now and then, which will leave no time for me to dwell on is it a boy or a girl!!!
Re: twilight-NBR
When the movie came out last year and all my middle school girls were going crazy obsessed over it, I borrowed the series from one of my students. I absolutely loved them, and I don't care what kind of crap DH gives me about it! I agree that the movie wasn't that great, although I'll still be seeing New Moon as soon as it comes out!
You're really going to like Jacob better than Edward in the second book. At least, that was the case for me!
The bad news is... that 4 book series isn't going to last you the two weeks you need to get you to the big U/S. ?
The book was WAY better than the movie, but I've found that few movies are better than the books anyways.
I got caught up in them about March of this year, saw the movie the night it came out. ?I don't have any memorabilia, but I do own all the books. ?But, if anyone asks, I'm a closet Twilight fan.?
I never had an interest before either, but in May I was desparate for something to occupy some time. I started Twilight, and finished the entire series in about a week & 1/2. The worst obsession was from Eclipse to Breaking Dawn. Make sure you have them both because once you finish Eclipse, you will die until the minute you can start Breaking Dawn.
Another note, I was able to get Twighlight and New Moon from the library w/no problem, but there were like 100 people in a wait line ahead of me for the 3rd & 4th books. I had to go to Wal-Mart because I refused to wait to finish the series
Have FUN!!!
I read all four books in less then a week - that is how much I enjoyed them. Then I regretted getting through them so fast... LOL
Yeah, I was so obsessed with Twilight too... and the movie sucked in my opinion. Zero comparison to the book (still plan to see the other movies though).
And BTW - I hate Jacob (sorry)
Me! I read the first book and made the mistake of not having the second ready to go as soon as I was done. So the next day I went out and got the rest of the series. I just couldn't put them down! I am sad that there is no more to read, so I may have to re-read them.
Also...Stephenie Meyer's website has a part of "Midnight Sun" which is Twilight written from Edward's perspective. I'm sad that it got leaked, and she decided not to finish it. But I enjoyed the little tidbit that was available.
Well, I am so glad to hear I am not the only person not at the tween age obsessing over these books. I am anxious to start new moon tonight. I honestly, can't wait to get out of here and go read it! If the library would have been open yesterday, I would have been there, but since it wasn't and I refuse to buy anymore books I had to wait a day. I am hoping I will be able to get my hands on books 3 and 4 pretty easily too...although, a woman I work with has offered me her copies! Yippee!!
?
JUST AN EDIT: THE TWILIGHT BOOK FROM EDWARD'S PERSPECTIVE IS CALLED MIDNIGHT SUN. ?NOT HARVEST MOON. ?No offense, just wanted to make sure if we're gonna fuel her fire, we should make sure she's got all the info right.
You can find it on Stephanie Meyer's website. It was good too.
I have read the entire series over a dozen times. I would finish one book and pick up the next. This lasted from November to May. I am totally obsessed. I agree that the movie was not very good. It does get a little better if you watch it a few times. I think New Moon will be much better than Twilight was from what I've heard.
Here is the link to Midnight Sun. https://www.stepheniemeyer.com/pdf/midnightsun_partial_draft4.pdf
I like this more than Twilight. Stephanie Meyer wrote this whole book, but a partial draft got leaked on the internet and she got upset and said she wouldn't publish it. She has since said that if she doesn't hear about it for a while then she will probably publish it. See what she said about it on her site. https://www.stepheniemeyer.com/midnightsun.html
I hate Jacob too.
TEAM EDWARD!
This! I'm now obsessed with all things vampire lol. I technically started the other way around though. I watched True Blood, then read Sookie, then read Twilight. DH is just as addicted as me (evil laugh) and neither of us can wait until the new Sookie book in October!!
I've keep re-reading the series over and over again. I think I just finsihed my third time. They are perfect during this pregnancy because I'm too tired to do anything else.
I love the movie too. I watched it before I read and it really brought the characters to life for me.
Cannot wait for New Moon!
This exactly. The movie was such a disappointment. I loved Bella in the book but I thought she was obnoxious and not at all likable in the movie.
I love love loved it!. I got all the ladies at work to read it and they become obsessed to. I'm totally team Jacob in the 2nd book too.
I've read all but New Moon twice, i didnt like it as much as the others. I got DH to read them too. I had to rush through Breaking Dawn because he was catching me. So as soon as he finished it I re-read that because I felt I missed a bunch of stuff. They put them out there as a 'tween' book but I know a lot of adults that read it and loved it, all the women in my neighborhood loved it.
I plan to go see New Moon It comes out Nov 20 I'm due Dec 6, I should be ok... I will need an isle set :-)
last august i picked up twilight w/o ever having heard of it before.....there was a table set up in the front of the store. it was the last book of the ones that i bought that day to read b/c it was the longest; once i did read it i wondered how i could've had that hotness in my hands for so long and not have known it! i read all 4 books in a week. i was in love w/it and i still am. i got all of my girlfriends to read it and my mom also; all of which loved the series as well. i also read midnight sun online; i also hope that she fnishes that and publishes it.
i love me some edward!!! smoldering and sculpted are my favorite adjectives from the book! my dh calls me a twi-tard.......when we all know it's twi-hard. love it!
