people are so rude!!

i work answering calls for infomercials and for the most part i answer calls in spanish because i signed up for that, i do get calls in english and although english is not my first language i think i do pretty good, i do have spelling mistakes also but thats because i didnt pay attention in class! lol anyways i just hate when people ask me where they are calling, they are so rude and sometimes i think they expect me to say i'm i India or something..

one time i even got a guy asking me if i was in africa.. i mean i get my english might not be perfect but come on people!! i'm a person too not a machine! i hate when people think i'm incompetent, most of the time when i have problems understanding people is because they have accents! i switch between english and spanish all the time.. yes my accent might come out a little bit but they dont have to be rude about it!!

That sucks Giselle.  Sorry they are giving you a hard time.  I think you english is fine.  They just have bad hearing. Any luck with finding a new job??

Yes this would annoy me.

A lot of ignorant people have the misconception about "accents".  They seem to think if you have an accent that you're stupid or don't know any English. At one of our local hospitals there are a few ER doctors who are originally from : Bandgladesh, Pakistan, Mexico, etc... all have heavy accents.  I wonder if anyone would ever dare talk down to them.

I used to work answering calls for ecommerce companies, and they ALWAYS ask where you're from because people in some states know more than the others.... ooook buddy did you want your jersey or not... oh and because I live in WI I HAVE to worship Favre...
