I'm having my baby at Prentice and they require that when you pre-register for delivery that the Peditrician be affiliated with Northwestern. Does anyone have any good recs for a peditrician? Also, how did you choose your ped and what questions did you ask beforehand?
THANKS!
Re: Peditrician rec w/ Northwestern?
We use Lakeview Pediatrics and LOVE them. I delivered at Prentice and was super happy with their care when we were still at the hospital and beyond.

I don't remember what I asked b/c I interviewed them during my first pregnancy in early '08, but I know I liked that they were very pro-breastfeeding, I liked the doctors and they were recommended by several families we knew. On the BFing point though, they're also sensitive about issues, we had to supplement with formula and our doctor wasn't at all pushy about it and didn't make me feel bad.
We use Town and Country. They have 3 offices...North and Clybourn, up north at Lincoln and Devon, and in Glenview. They do go to Prentice.
I love all the doctors I've seen there. I went to them because my SIL used them for my niece, and I had a couple other recommendations as well. When I called I think I just asked about our insurance, etc. I never did/will do a delayed vacc. schedule or anything too out of the ordinary, but I think they would be supportive of that. I delivered at Lutheran General, and will with this baby as well. They don't go out there, so I also asked what I had to do, etc. My DD was just seen by the staff pedi (who was honestly GREAT!) and then at 4 days old we had to bring my DD into T&C.
My favorite is Dr. Polin.
