Baby Names

Does Brendan work with Evan?

All of our names end with an "n" or "n" sounds, so we've decided to continue that with our future children (I know, we're dorks).  If we have a girl we've decided on Jordan.  We've been back and forth with boy names and today Brendan seemed to stick with both of us.  Does it work with Evan?  And we're considering Brendan Ryan (which is DH name).  Too much "n"?

Edit: Evan is my first son's name, so they would be a sib set...sorry if I confused!

Re: Does Brendan work with Evan?

  • I think both Brendan Evan and Brendan Ryan sound good together.  Personally, I like Brenden Evan.

  • Brendan is fine as a sibling to Evan.

I'm not a fan of the repetitive sound in the full name Brendan Ryan though. It doesn't flow well.

  • I think they sound good as brothers and I think Brendan Ryan as a name too.

Sorry.  Apaprently I am still learning how to read.  I think Brenden and Evan are a good sibling combo name.  Brenden Ryan goes well together to me.

  • I think they go great together. I like names like that, but my last name ends in -an and I think THAT would be too much. Good choice!
  • too much n for me. I think I'd like Brendan James or something else with it, rather than Evan or Ryan.
  • I think Brendan and Evan are great brother names. I'm not crazy about the Brendan Ryan combo - sorry, just too many Ns for me.

  • Brendan goes great with Evan as a sib set. I would also have to agree that Ryan may be a tad bit too much "n" in one name, but really, it's your choice! Before I found out our baby was a girl I was really liking the name Connor but didn't feel it would work with our last name (ends in an "r" sound).

Anyway, here are a few other MN suggestions, just for fun (I love middle names):

    Brendan Ross

    Brendan Gage

    Brendan Reid

    Brendan Wade

Here are some other MN ideas from an article I wrote for more inspiration!

    Good luck!

  • I think Evan and Brendan are nice together!

    Good luck!
