Ugh..."Big U/S" = Total Fail (Long)

Even though we are on team green, I was excited for the "Big Ultra Sound."I was supposed to have it last week, then my FIL had emergency heart surgery and we had to reschedule.?

So, we flew back from CA last night basically for this since I leave to go back to CA for a wedding on Wednesday.?

We get there...we wait. My mom is with me and DH. They put me in a regular room with no ultra sound machine.?

I ask the nurse what gives. She looks at my chart and says "oh you were not scheduled for that today." I give her the background and she disappears for a while. She comes back with a doppler. Says she is sorry, but they do not have that on the schedule for today.

I tell her my mom is with me...can we at least do a regular u/s? She checks and says yes. ?

We get moved to another room...we wait...and wait. DH checks, Mom checks...they keep saying soon. We waiting 45 more minutes.

Mom checks again...they say soon. Then 10 more minutes pass. A nurse pops her head in and says...

"Did we tell you the dr. left for a delivery?"

Um NO! We tell them we can see someone else. We wait more.

Mom checks again and a guy is standing outside. He says "Can I help you?"

Mom says "I need a dr. any dr." He says he is a dr. and comes in to do a super fast ultra sound. We see the baby, everything looks good. Get a couple of pictures, but at that point we are so over it.

We explain what happened and he brings me someone to may the correct appointments for us.

My appointment was at 3:30pm...we left at 5:00pm. Spent maybe 10 minutes with the nurse and dr. ?

I am scheduled for next Saturday.

It was good to see the baby, but crappy end to a long day. ?

Oh and I am up 16 lbs. Joy. ?

I understand dr's have to leave for deliveries and emergencies, but I think it's ridiculous that people kept forgetting you were even there! They should have just rescheduled from the get go- even though that would have been a bummer especially with your mom there. But at least you saw your baby...

Agreed. I don't mind that he had to leave...I may be doing that to someone one day.?

But the appointment was not right from the get go and then we kept getting forgot about.

It was good to see the baby though and know that all is well in there. ?
