Nickname for Brandon

My family and I really like nicknames.  You know the basic ones, Gina for Regina, Jules for Julie, Jen for Jennifer.

I like the idea of having two names for my child, the long professional one and the shorter familial one.

On my short list of names I have:

Allison - Alli

Michelle - Shell

Alexis - Lexi

Zachary - Zach

Benjamin - Ben

Brandon - ?

 

I can't think of a good nickname for Brandon, and I REALLY like the name.  Do you all have any suggestions.

I know, it's really early to be thinking about names...

I know, all names don't need a nickname...

...but I'm bored, so I thought I'd post.

Okay, so I have a nephew named Brandon.  For a long time, he was Brandude.  Then we started calling him Bran, which became Bran Muffin, which then morphed into just Muffin.  For the better part of his formative teenage years, my friends all called the poor kid "Muffin".  Just a warning!

Ditto.  Anytime we have discussed Brandon or Branden, we have always shortened to Bran.  Also, we are smarty pants (or so we like to think) so we were saing Brain or Brainy, too.

I'm hacking the thread from the GP board...but DH's name is Brandon. While I call him Brandon, alot of people call him 'B'.

There is a tv show on tbs called One of the Boys and there is a guy on there named Brandon and they call him Brando...I think it's cute!

I feel the same way you do about liking longer, formal names and nicknames.  However, all our favorite names end up like this!  Our current boy fav is Nolan - no real nicknames. 

I think if you love the name, just use it.  Brandon sounds good for a baby or a grown man so you don't really need a nn.
