Is it too late?

My son is 4 months and 15 lbs 5 oz.  I have wanted to get a sling but have been slacking at it...mostly scared of getting the wrong one.  Well, there is a baby wearing class for beginners and I am tempted of going.  Its $15 but you get a $15 credit for a new sling.

I also have a daughter 1 yr 4 months and is about 19 lbs.

Anyhow, do you think its too late to even start baby wearing? He does not cry or yearn to be held.  It would just make my life easier until he is walking.

  • You should totally go. They might have different types of baby carriers so you can see what works best for you and your LO's.

  • Nope I don't think it's too late.  He might enjoy the view.  It may take a little bit for him to get used to it and enjoy, but the right carrier might help make that easier.  Go, have fun and good luck!
  • i don't think it's too late at all! i still wear my 15 month old, occasionally. so you'd have lots of time to use whatever sling you end up liking. the $15 credit sounds like a great incentive, but keep in mind that, depending on the popularity of babywearing in your area, you might be able to find the sling/wrap you like at a higher-end baby consignment shop. mine have ergos all of the time.?
  • definitely not too late

a?possible?plus of the class might ?be try before you buy!?

  • Ditto pp - I would totally go.  I still wear DS, and he enjoys it.  I actually didn't wear him a lot in the beginning (I wasn't a fan of the sling I had for the nb stage), and really got into it around 3-4 months.  It did take a bit of him getting used to it, but now, it's almost guaranteed calmness!  It would have been wonderful to try out things before I bought one, if they allow you to do that in the class!
