Multiples

back from 2nd u/s

Heard both h/bs again - 173 and 183 this time.  Baby A was measuring 8w0d and Baby B was 8w2d.  RE said Baby A might just "look" smaller b/c he is behind Baby A and further away from the probe.  Has anyone else had this happen?

Anyway, I was a little worried b/c they were measuring 3 days behind what I thought I was according to the date of my ER, but RE said their growth from last appointment is perfect.

This is surreal.  I thank God everyday for these miracles - and my lack of symptoms.  I guess I should feel lucky all I have is exhaustion.  Smile

Re: back from 2nd u/s

  • At the beginning mine were measuring a day apart.  I wouldn't worry too much, they have a long time to catch up to each other.
  • Mine were measuring 3 days apart at 7w.  I'm not sure what "age" their measuring, but at 17w, there was a 1oz difference between them.

  • Glad to hear your update--great news!!

My girls have measured slightly diff. each time they measure them but my peri said it was normal and nothing significant to worry about. They measure pretty closely (like yours do). If your dr. said they are perfect--just trust and go with that as he would surely let you know if it was problematic.

You ARE lucky to be symptom free (I too feel blessed I survived without heinous m/s). The exhaustion is a fair trade off (I slept more than I thought was humanly possible). Wishing you lots of rest and energy!

Yeah, like I said, I have been exhausted. I must have a nap everyday to function like a human being.

  • Great news!  I must have missed that you were having an u/s today.

Congrats!  So happy for you.  :)

    thanks everyone!

kimarino - when do you go back for another u/s?  are you getting an NT scan done?

  • Mine have been measuring about 2 days apart since the beginning however...they were measuring about 3 - 5 days ahead of where I currently am...which can't really be a mistake since we did IVF!  My doctor said it is very common for one to be more dominant and for them to measure differently...you just don't want to see them start to grow further apart.

We did have the NT scan done.  I have to admit for totally selfish reasons.  I wanted to see my little miracles again...and it is always good to be prepared.  The scan lasted about 1 hr and the babies cooperated completely.  They were moving around like crazy and we even saw one of them move its hand to its mouth and suck its thumb.  I would completely recommend having the scan done just to see them again!

Congrats on the lack of symptoms as well.  The only symptom I have had thus far is also exhaustion.  I don't sleep at night which is a problem so during the day I would give anything to put my head down on my desk and nap.

Cograts again on your little miracles!

I meet my Peri on Thursday!  I am guessing I will have an ultrasound then.  I have no clue about an NT scan.  My RE never discussed this with me and I have been avoiding google like the plague because I am a paranoid freak and the info on there scares me.  I'll see what the Peri suggests on Thursday.  I am so nervous!

  • Congrats on a great u/s. Mine were measuring a couple days apart. My RE said everything is good as long as they are within a week of where they should be.

I also thank God daily for not having horrible symptoms. I'm like you - I need a 2 hour nap everyday or I'm a complete wreck and cannot function. We are definitely lucky!

  • Glad to hear you had a good ultrasound :)

  • Wow you sound exactly like me!!

We did IVF and mine were measuring about 3 days behind what they should for our ER date at 10 weeks.  They have caught up and look perfect now.  They said that as long as it isn't more than 7 days not to worry at all.

Our baby A is STILL hiding behind baby B.  It makes ultrasound visits really hard.  We have a TON of pictures of baby B... baby A has a  few really crappy ones.  They said it will get better as they get bigger and the uterus grows. Poor baby A doesn't get any good pictures...  This is also the same baby that gave us trouble finding the sex out.... so we will see in a few weeks if A is still a boy.

I never had MS either.  I was sleeping ALL the time... but that was it.  My mother never had MS either, so maybe I got that from her??

    Congrats on the good appointment!!

thanks, and wow, we do sound exactly alike!  my mom never felt sick with any of her pregnancies either, so i guess i have her to thank.  :)

i don't mind not seeing baby a as long as i see enough to know that he's growing and his h/b is nice and high.  (i'm convinced he is a boy, by the way, can you tell?)
