QOTD: How has your temperament held up with the heat of summer?

Me:  I think that I have been okay.  I definitely do not have the patience with DS that I usually do, but that could just be because he is almost 3.

Re: First in '10 Monday Check In

  • QOTD: Thankfully we have had a very cool summer here so heat has not been an issue.  At least not yet.  Who knows what August will bring and I am getting bigger now...

  • QOTD: How has your temperament held up with the heat of summer?

Well, I don't think its the heat of summer so much, as I do the raging hormones! I feel like my normal me has left the building, and was replaced with some psycho person who won't leave!

  • Right now, with the temperature in teh 90's and humidity that feels like 100%, but temperment has been a bit edgy. I'm having a hard time breathing with the humidity, and I always feel overheated. My two LO's are 1 and 2, and I've definitely been a bit short-tempered with them, which makes me feel horrible. I am so looking foward to fall and winter
  • I had a great weekend with DH and my family!

qotd: I think I've been pretty good. I've even been told that I'm nice for being pregnant so I hope they really meant it! I had a complete melt down last week about laundry ... poor DH.

  • I have a co-irker that has always bugged me, but I can't even stand to think about him, let alone talk to him.  I have been close to throat punching him for a while now.

  • This summer has been the best in years thank God! This comming up week is going to be hotter ( we are in Aug.) I have a wedding to stand up in 2 weeks! (long dress out door wedding) What was she thinking...
  • It is much, much hotter here than normal.  Luckly I have the summers off, so I have been able to stay comfortable in front of my ac or at the lake.  I am looking forward to cooler weather.

  • I've been Mrs. Cranky Pants, to be honest. I can stop myself from speaking up with most people, but not with DH. Poor DH, he gets to hear my cranky pants thoughts about everyone! Which is why staying inside with the a/c works best for me!
  • June and July were actually pretty mild around here, and it's actually been cool out most nights... but the days are getting HOT.  Luckily I haven't had to be outside, and I avoid it at all costs.  I get headaches in the heat and humidity.

Next week I go to the beach for a few days, so we'll see how I hold up.  Odds are I'll sit in the A/C in the condo and eat and put together puzzles.

  • I have been just fine. Summers in Vermont don't get very hot...LOL. Now, I'm originally from TX so I know I would be miserable right about now if I still lived there!
  • I'm hella cranky here in Florida
  • Its been pretty warm here, but as long as I have a cool bottle of water and some shade I seem to be ok! I have noticed I have WAY less patience for my big doggie though ;-(
I'm not looking forward to the heat when we go to Vegas to visit family...
  • Feeling so-so after the weekend, but it was a busy one (I was a bridesmaid in a good friend's wedding and there were a bunch of things going on).

QOTD: It's been brutally hot in Seattle and we don't have A/C. I have been both cranky and feeling ill. Not fun. We're cooling down now, though, which is great.

  • Phew! I live in Cocoa ,Florida so I stay inside ALL the time. It's so hot it makes me feel sick if I'm in it for 2 long. I do like to go outside more at night by the beach and get some air. Smile
  • I had a very good weekend getting some practice with my nephew, who is 2 months old.

QOTD: We've had a mild summer so far, 80's most of the time, so I don't have too much to complain about.

But I still can't wait for fall! Smile

  • QOTD: After a record heat wave in Seattle and a generally hotter summer than normal for around here, I have been extremely thankful for:

    1. Having an air conditioner.
    2. Not being in my third trimester. :)
    3. Having an excuse to eat a lot of popsicles!

  • QOTD: It hasn't been *nearly* as hot this year as last, I think we've only had one or two days over 100... I've been spending a good portion of everyday in the AC, most of the afternoon in the pool and running fans with the windows open all night!

But I am very glad that by the time I'm huge it will be winter!

  • I've been okay most of the summer since it's been rainier and cooler than most.  The past week was horribly humid and I was pretty miserable but, I tried really hard not to be cranky about it.  I think I (mostly) succeeded.

  • Had a good weedend.

Temperment seems to be about the same. I do notice some days worse then others.

  • Sunday was spent on the couch or in the bathroom. Today I'm at work, but still not feeling well.

When I first read the QOTD, I thought you said temperature. LOL Ummm HOT. :) My temperament has been fairly normal. And when I do get mad or something, I don't think it has anything to do with the weather. I know I can't do as much as I'm used to because I just get so hot. It sucks.

  • Ugh, is today over with yet?? I've got a migraine from hell that won't go away and work is crazy. I can't take it anymore.

QOTD: Thankfully our summer hasn't been sunny and warm until just recently. Over the past few days the humidity has been insane and has been taking it's toll on me. I feel cranky 95% of the day and I get tired much more quickly. It's not helping that I'm starting to get a bigger belly right now either.

  • living without AC has been hell, for me and my poor DH that i seem to snap at and get mad at allll the time.. for things i can't even remember in 5 minutes...

sooo yea, i feel bad most the time.. : )

  • We had a fun but busy weekend. I'm hoping to rest up for the next 2 days (though I'm working so no sleeping in or anything like that) so that I'll be fresh for vacation on Wednesday!

QOTD: I've been ok with the heat. Last month was "the hottest July on record," and August is generally hotter, but the heat doesn't really make me cranky, just lethargic. It should be triple digit highs all week at home, but we're going down to the coast where the sea breeze keeps the temps about 8-10 degrees cooler. I am looking forward to some mid-90s.

  • Living in San Diego, our weather is nice year round. We went to Scottsdale, Az last week and it was 115! My temperment was not pretty! I don't do well in intense heat. Now that we are home again, I am back to normal, well, as normal as one can feel while pregnant. Last night I had to pee every 30 minutes for about 2 1/2 hours! What's up with that!?
  • I hate Mondays! I am definitely not dealing with the heat of summer very well. But I don't usually deal with it well. I find my energy running out very quickly and not cooling off as fast as I normally would.

  • QOTD:  This summer has been amazingly mild, so thankfully, I haven't really had to deal with the heat.  We'll see what August holds, though.

  • We haven't had much of a summer here in Mass! it has been mostly rain (which is aweful).  But on the occasional warm days, I have been managing pretty well.
  • Fine. If anything it just makes me a little more tired...and lazy. Not feeling like cleaning my house one bit.
  • QOTD: I'm doing fine- I just don't go outside :). I am getting hot at night now though so will need to remedy that situation with a fan soon.

  • So far I've been balanced.  If I am irritated, it's more of a flash in the pan than a simmering resentment.  :)
  • QOTD:  The heat has not been bothering me to much.  I was a little concerned on Saturday...we had an outdoor wedding...but all was fine.  I am trying to not get pissy and DH has been totally awesome.  I think he is afraid to get me upset!
  • QOTD: I live in South Texas and dont remember the last day we had that was not 100+. My temperament has been pretty good though as long as I am not out in the heat for too long.
  • Feeling ok after the weekend, I threw up 2ce this weekend at night, I'm hoping this is not m/s coming back! We also had another appointment with the midwife and got to hear Squirts HB- 150! And I gained a lb so now I am only in the hole 5 instead of 6 from first tri.

QOTD: I'm not going to lie, it's been hot in arizona. And when it's really hot it makes me uncomfortable, especially with the hot flashes I've been getting.

But I think I've been handling it ok, sometimes I get a little bit whiny and then we turn the air up ;)

  • tempermant is okay with the heat-luckily a cooler summer thus far.   I notice later in the week or later in the day that my patience gets very very very low.  I also deal with a pretty active 2.5 year old and boy do my patience get tried sometimes!!   otherwise overall i would say i'm doing okay.
  • My temperment has actually been pretty good given that it hasn't been super hot here- I am waiting now that I am starting to get a bump that is will be a super hot August and into September.
