2nd Trimester

Did anyone register on Amazon.com?

I just realized they have a baby registry from another post!  I knew they had baby stuff, but didn't realize they had a registry!

We live in a smaller city that is an hour from the closest BRU, Target, etc.  This might be a great option for us, especially with the super saver shipping.

Anyone register there?  I just started looking so I'm wondering how their selection is, etc....

Re: Did anyone register on Amazon.com?

  • A good friend of mine registered there and recommended it.  I think I may limit my registry to BRU and Amazon since we live far away from many family and friends.

  • they have a universal registry button so you can add stuff from other sites as well.
  • We are registered on Amazon and at BRU.  They have everything!  If it was up to us, we would have only registered at Amazon. Smile  The universal registry button is a big plus.
  • I am registered there and on BRU.  I liked amazon because I was able to get the actual items that I was looking for (like the swing that I love, but can't find anywhere else, and the GRACO print that I wanted for my travel system and PnP but have never seen on BRU website or any other store).  I have most of my stuff on there.

  • I registered on Amazon with their items and using the universal button, as well as registering Target. No one bought anything off Amazon.

  • We're registering with Amazon.com.  We did for our wedding too.  They have so many retailers, including Target, available that it's a no brainer.  The selection is awesome.  Plus, we live 1500+ miles from most of our friends and family that it makes sense to us, since if they buy us baby gifts they'll have to ship them to us anyway.  For those who decide not to shop of that registry, they can get ideas of what we want/need and certainly find it elsewhere (for less, etc.)...so they have options.

  • We're doing both Amazon and BRU, but Im trying to put as much as possible on BRU just because I know my particular family and friends will probably go there as a default. Still, some things were out of stock on the BRU site so I put them on both registries (in case they come back in stock later) and other brands I wanted were not sold at BRU so those items also went on Amazon. I used my baby bargains book while registering to help determine brands and styles I wanted and then if BRU didnt have that, I found it online and put it on the Amazon registry.

  • I am obsessed with my Amazon universal registry!! I have most of my big things on there - pnp, high chair, car set, bedding etc...as well as some boutique type items, cloth diapers, PBK stuff...I just hope my family and friends actually shop from it!

  • My SIL registered there and it worked out well for her. I've got a wishlist started for kind of pre-planning... I find their selection to be better than BRU or Target.

This. We registered at Amazon because they have just about everything and if they don't, the Universal Registry button is great!

  • Well, when I had DD 2 years ago we registered at Amazon and BRU...nobody got anything from Amazon - everyone went to BRU.  If you have more people shopping online, you will have more success.  Also, a tidbit for those people who are registering at BRU...we did most of our registering online, and most of our friends/family went to the store in person.  A lot of the stuff I registered for online wasn't available in the store, and it was very frustrating for them to get stuff.  So, beware - if you think people will be doing a lot of in-store shopping, I really recommend going to the store and seeing what they carry in-stock so that people can pick stuff up in person.
  • I am creating my wish list and plan to add the items to a registry later. Many of my family and friends live long distance so I consider it a great option.
