When did you transition from the newborn hug hold to the regular hug hold? DD doesn't seem to love being in the fetal (froggy) position anymore but I wasn't sure if it was too soon to leave her legs out.
We switched at about 3-4 wks. DD never loved the newborn hold in the moby (although she liked it in the hotsling, so who knows) so I just put her in the regular way, facing me with the feet hanging out. I just put her head under one of the bands, but facing out so she could breath of course, since she couldn't hold her head up yet. It's worked perfectly though.
Have you tried (and I don't know the real name of the hold) putting her up and down on you, facing your chest, tucking her legs underneath her and snugging her in directly up and down facing you?
I never did the laying down peanut hold bc DD always wanted to be up and directly facing me as she was when she was sleepingon my chest or whatever. She's a total tummy gal.
Subsequently, around 3ish mo I turned her out to face the world - she was happy as a pig in pig stuff

That's the newborn hug hold
I think we stopped around 2 months or so. I just made sure to support her head well when I bent over (or really, most of the time). She had a ton of hair and HATED having cloth of any kind on it (still does). Shortly thereafter I faced her out and she never wanted to go back!

I have the same problem. DD likes to have her legs stretched out while in the Moby (well, she stiffens them as I put her in!), so the newborn hug hold has always been a challenge. We always end up in cradle, unless she's half asleep, which is better for nursing anyhow.
So good to know that people have done other things!
