Re: Luvs Leakguard Guarantee

  • I used Luvs more than any other brand with my DD.  They're great diapers!  Pampers are good too.

  • I HATED Luvs. But, other moms I know swore by them. It seems to me that they work well for girls, but not boys? Not so much the leaking, but they were very rough inside and my son chafed from them on his genitals and on his inner thighs. They also didn't seem to stretch very much (compared to Pampers/Huggies). We even tried buying the next size up (on the recommendation from a friend) and that didn't work either.

I'm not one for major name brands, usually generic is perfectly fine for me (not that Luvs is a generic), but DS wore Pampers until he was in Pull-Ups. Then he wore the Target brand. (I have nothing against Huggies, Pampers just worked for us so we stuck with it.)

Just my two cents! I WISH he could have worn Luvs - so much less expensive!

  • I HATE the smell of Luvs, I tried them with DS and about gagged everytime I picked him up.
  • LOL and I like the smell of Luvs!! With DD we use a combo between Luvs and the new Target brand, they just changed the name recently to "Up and Up" and they are way better than the old kind they used to sell. I didn't like Huggies, but Pampers are also good, but much more expensive.

  • I agree about the smell, but Pampers leak on DS and Huggies give him a blister from the way they are cut, so Luvs it is.  I think you've got to test all the different kinds for what works best for your kid, and that can change as they grow and their body shape changes.  I swore by Pampers for over a year, but then as he got long and lean rather than being the chunky little guy he was at first, they didn't work for him anymore.
