Vitamins that Dr. Luke recommends

Do you or did you take all of the suppliments that Dr. Luke recommends?  I am reading she says: Multivitamin, Calcium, Mag., Zinc, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E.  Do you or did you take all of these or just the multivitamin?  I'm curious since I already feel I take a lot but also want to do what is best.  TIA!

Re: Vitamins that Dr. Luke recommends

  • My doctor prescribed a vitamin called Preg-Vit. It's supposed to be a perfectly balanced vitamin for moms-to-be.  So I take that plus extra Calcium and Folic Acid. Those are the ones he said were most important. Especially with multiples he really emphasized how important calcium and folic acid are.

    HTH! :)

  • My pernatals that are prescribed are called Geticare and my peri told me too add Calcium which I have.  Wonder if I should add folic acid or the other ones that Dr. Luke rec's.

  • I took an Rx PNV + an extra Rx folic acid, as prescribed by my OB.

  • I take a prenatal, calcium and fish oil, and my doc also prescribed an extra 1 g of folic acid.
  • I'm taking my regular PNV (I think it's called Gestacare DHA) plus another vitamin Rx'd by my RE called Folgard. It has extra B vitamins/folic acid.
  • I take and OTC prenatal and the Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc that she recommended.  I think the extra calcium is important and I needed extra magnesium in my first pregnancy because of wicked bad leg cramps at night. So far so good.

My midwife said I didn't really need anything special for the twins.
