I've got nothing...
Colton's birthday is 8/28 so we'll do his party on Saturday 8/29. I have nothing planned. Things have been crazy with getting ready for his surgery and all that. I have no theme, invites, cake, decorations, or anything else. Any ideas for a theme? He like animals and loves Elmo. His fav book for awhile was Brown Bear Brown Bear. I have no idea what to do or where to get started. HELP me please! The only thing I have is I'm getting pictures together from his 1st year to put in a picture frame as a collage.
Re: S/O Birthday parties...I have nothing planned. HELP!
My kids aren't really into anything in particular so I found really cute polka dot invitations that say "1st Birthday" on them. I got 4 packages of small plates, 4 large plates, a happy birthday banner, 2 mylar balloons, some dangling decs, 32 invitations and 32 thank yous (I think that's all) for like $76.
For the party, we are having cake (obviously), drinks, and lots of appetizer items (queso/chips, chicken salad crossiants, homemade pimento chesse sandwiches, bacon wrapped chestnuts, etc.)
The boys are the only kids that will be there more than likely so we don't have to worry about games and goodie bags.
We're having Matt's cater Ella's party, so it's going to be a fiesta.
THis is what I have:
Food - Fajitas, Enchiladas, Margaritas, and Beer, Pink Lemonade for the kiddos
Cupcakes - I swear by Sam's cupcakes. THey're cheap and yummy.
Decorations - i have a birthday banner, and will make a name banner in the party colors. I have tissue paper flowers, pinatas, and cute candle holders. I also have misc sombreros, and other junk.
Entertainment - I have a ton of outside toys for all the kiddos. I might do paint your own maracas but they might be too much of a pain considering most kids will be ages 2-5.
Party Favors - I always do books, its my thing. Parents love it, and always tell me thanks for no junk!
Thanks so much for your ideas and help!!
I like the idea of books as party favors. We probably won't have but 5 kiddos there but that's a great idea
