Adoption

She looks just like you!

We had our foster baby out at the mall not too long ago and someone told my husband that she looks just like him!

People have also asked us where she gets her cheeks from..........Who knows!

Re: She looks just like you!

  • lol I hear that everytime we go out lol, today it was "where did she get those eyes?" & I was honest I said I really don't know lol
  • I threatened my DH that next time someone asks us I am going to respond: "Well, we arent sure who the father is!" Haha - he would die!

Haha my DH would play on with that.

  • We get that all the time!

Worse, I got "I knew you were pregnant but didn't know you were due this soon".  Ummmm, I was never pregnant!  I got that twice.

LOL, we got "Wow, we didn't realize you were PG, but I guess some people just don't show very much" at church when DD was a month old.  It was someone I don't know very well and didn't want to go into the story with, so I just ignored it and laughed about it with DH later.

We get "she looks just like you" ALL.THE.TIME.  Mostly from people who know she was adopted though -- I have to wonder how much if it is them "making peace" with adoption in their minds, KWIM?  DH's aunt is the WORST offender.  I really cannot be in the same room with the woman for five minutes w/o her cornering me to tell me that... again.  *sigh*  This weekend I told her it doesn't matter to us b/c we'd love DD if she were purple-polka-dotted, but I don't think it made a dent.

  • I am am adopted myself and I got it all the time growing up. People would say how much I looked like my parents.  Little did they know!!!
After 2 years of IF, and moving forward with adoption we were thrilled to discover we were pregnant with no intervention in 2009. Miss Molly joined our family in February 2010 and we could not be more in love with our little angel. Lilypie Second Birthday tickers blog www.grumpysnickles.com
