Colton's surger update

Surgery went well. Took a little longer, but everything went well. Colton did well up until last night. He's in a lot of pain and the nurse is pissing me off with "it's not time for his meds". Ok but he's moaning and crying in his sleep and I hate for my baby to be in so much pain. He's on morphine and Loratab and seems to be much better. He's had a bath this morning thanks to him ripping out every piece of equipment that was attached-- IV (lots of blood), drainage tube (another bloody mess), and all his sensors/monitors. He's now resting well with no attachements. When he wakes, the nurse will put back his IV and everything else except for the drainage tube. Oh yeah, he did this while he had the "no-no's" on too. Hopefully we'll go home tomorrow. We'll learn about his G tube and button this afternoon and they will teach us how to care, clean, and feed him.

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. It's so hard to see your LO go through pain and things like this. I'm thankful he won't remember. I'll try to update again tonight. Things where so crazy yesterday.

Take care!

G tube/mic-key button for 6 months. Never in a million years would I have thought we would be here. Just can't get over how bad reflux can be and how it can destroy his poor body.

At this time, refues bottles so he's 100% tube feed. Hopefully we'll go home tomorrow but not sure. He had fundo and g tube yesterday morning at Cooks. Can't say enough about this hospital. We love it!! They have been so wonderful.

Thanks again for all the support. It's been a tough few days.

  • Please let me know if there is something I can do to help or if you need anything. Seriously!
  • I am so sorry he is having so much pain. ((HUGS)) It's hard to see your child in pain & not be able to do anything about it! I will keep your family in my thoughts & prayers!
