I know almost everyone says to use caffeine to get rid of a migrane....and most OTC drugs have it in them. My MIL can't have any caffeine because of her migranes though, so obviously it differs with every person.
It's not because of the pregnancy. Caffiene actually triggers my migraines. So it works great, totally gets rid of the current migraine, and then I get another like an hour later. It's about as far from ideal as you can get.

I wish cutting out caffeine would eliminate all my migraines. I've cut out all dairy, too, and I don't drink wine or beer any more. But I still get ones triggered by my hormones and other various things.
I'm getting one right now, in fact. Got to love those first trimester hormones!

Re: My new migraine Rx has caffiene in it
Are you allergic to caffeine?

Good luck!
I was going to tell you that that RX is magical, but then I realized that you are pg! Sorry

Yep, that's basically my MIL's deal. So she cut all caffeine out per doctor's orders 20 years ago and has never had a migrane since.
DH remembers on every vacation (they went on TONS), her being out of commission for a few days each time.

I should also mention that my MIL went through menopause 20 years ago....so that had something to do with it too. She's 68.
Good luck! I hope you find the right balance.
