WTH- there was an EGG in my front yard

A whole chicken egg just sitting in the pinestraw right by my front walkway.  How does that happen?  DH and I just stood there and stared at it.  It definitely wasn't there yesterday.  I mean, could it have been some other kind of bird?  We don't have chickens running around wild... that I know of.  And well, that's a big egg for a robin.  It wasn't under a tree as if it had fallen out of a nest.  Did someone put it there?  Was this their version of "egging" our house?  Seriously, this is just bizarre.

My DH just read this and started laughing. Maybe there are feral chickens running around your neighborhood. Don't let Gavin out at night! And keep an eye on Duchess!!

On groundhog day this year, my best friend found a giant cardboard groundhog in her yard. ? She emailed the association to see who left it there and no one responded. ? ?She was actually a little freaked out by it. ?

A few months later, her neighbor fessed up to doing it, and watching and laughing her and her husbands reaction from his window. ? Creep. ?
