Anyone ever have Mastitis?

Pretty sure I have it Fever, achy body, extremely tired, oh and a really really SORE bb!

If you've had it, did you go to your reg DR or an OBGYN? I don't have an OBGYN yet, I was hoping I wouldn't have to go see one until we moved. Also, if you've had it, what did they do for you?

no experience with it but i would guess they would give you antibiotics for it

Oh Lawd, did I have it! I had it three times. Sucks. Sounds like you've got it. The good news is if you catch it in time and act on it, you might be able to get it to go away without antibiotics. I figured this out by the third time. Here's what you have to do:

1. Advil

2. HOT showers, a lot of them. I would take 3-4 a day.

3. Manually express the breast. It hurts. Like HELL. I know, but you've got to get that milk out. Stand under the hot water and just massage the breast until you get the milk flowing and keep it up as long as you can.

4. More heat. Keep hot packs on the breast as much as possible.

5. Call your Dr. I don't think a reg. Dr. is going to turn you away and tell you to find an OB. I'm sure they can help you.

6. Rest. If you H is able to take the day off of work tomorrow, I say he should. If it gets bad, you won't even be able to get out of bed. It is seriously worse than any flu I've ever had.

Ditto Mrs. Donkey and stay on top of that fever.  Take the tylenol to get it down.  Mine spiked to 103 before I knew it and I didn't have anyone home to take care of me.  I almost called an ambulance because I felt so bad.
