How long does it take to get GBS results?

I have my GBS swab today and am wondering if I will get the results today as well or if they have to send it off somewhere. If so, how long does it usually take to get the results?

It is a bacterial culture, so it they have to give it time to see if anything grows. I had mine last week and was told to expect results at my appt this week.

I had mine last week, and my OB said she'd have the results at this week's appointment.

I had my swab at 36 weeks and got my results at my next appointment a week later.

They told me at my next weekly appointment.

I go weekly...so the next weekly apt I got it. they would call you immediately if it comes back positive I would think. Do not stress over it.

You won't get results today because they have to wait to see if it grows or not. However, I think it's pretty quick.... I had my swab on a Friday, and on Tuesday (my next appt because of scheduling conflict) they had the results for me.
