just got back from the dermatologist for my major face breakouts and he recommended cerave face wash and cream and wrote me a rx for finacea gel. I haven't really heard anything about cerave on this board but tons of raves for cetaphil. Has anyone used cerave and finacea gel? thanks
Re: cerave or cetaphil?
I've never used CreaVe.
I always use Cetaphil lotion and love it! Maybe I'll try CreaVe this time if I can find it.
Thank you IVF for our little miracles!!
OTC geek here- def. try cerave. Cetaphil is great if your breakouts are caused by sensitivity to skin care products, but won't necessarily help if that is not the cause of yours. Cerave is great for clearing up breakouts of unknown origin.
I bought it from my drs office bc the lady said its hard to find in retail stores. I did go to target to my rx filled and didn't see it there, maybe walmart or a pharmacy would carry it.
I went to their website - apparently places like Rite Aid & Walgreens should have it -- I'm going to try both (if I need to)
I'm excited! My skin is so bad sometimes, and it's getting worse now -- I'm always willing to try something new!

I am using the finacea gel, and it improved things for sure. My skin is still bad, but not as bad as it was.. that stuff burns at first! You have fair warning! But stick it out, after about 4-6 weeks it starts burning less and it only burns for maybe.. 30 minutes? An hour? It's a random stinging sensation.
My skin seemed much more oily on it at first, and there is zero peeling or any other sensitivity.
OH! and the Cerave cleanser and moisturizer come in the box with the Finacea. Your Dr should also have given you coupons.. if not, go to the Finacea website and try to get the rebates there. The end.
thanks for all of the info. Nope dr didnt give me any coupons or samples...bummer. I went to the finacea website and just printed a $10 off coupon. thanks alot
