Nails Poll

Does anyone have nail extensions or fake nails?

If so, do you have acrylic, silk, gel?

Will you continue to keep your nails once you have a LO?

How do you pick your nose with those things?

Re: Nails Poll

  • PNV have worked wonders for my nails.  I do not have fake nails but mine always peeled.  Now they grow so long I tend to bend them uncomfortably before I have to trim them.

  • I've had gel in the past but stopped doing them when we started TTC. I think if you get them done by the right place and pick the right color they can look very nice but they can also look really bad if you don't lol. I don't plan on getting them again for the foreseeable future, maybe after the baby comes but I'd have them really short like I always did.
  • I only had fake nails once, for my senior prom.  I could take my contact lenses out (I used to wear them; now I just have glasses); I had to have my BFF do it for me.  It sucked.  Now they are naturally short & will be forever.

What is this PNV you speak of? My nails are terrible!

  • I have acrylics, I bite my nails.

I'm not sure if I will keep them when I get pg/have a LO it will be more about cost than anything else.

As far as nose picking, they are better for nose picking than no nails IMO, they are like a little shovel LOL

  • I have a powder permanant french.  Still going strong.  My nails suckass so this is the only way they look halfway decent.  It's not that hard.

She means prenatal vitamins.  They are good for your hair and nails :)

  • I had acrylic nails until a few months ago. I had them removed shortly before DD was due.

  • I have natural nails now that grow very well so I typically cut them before they break.  I have friends who have had "fake" nails throughout their pregnancy and after.  One would go for fills at the first appointment opening for the day so that she wouldn't breath as much of the fumes.  The hard part for her was buttoning clothes, or clasping jewelry.  Snaps were no prob.  She kept them on b/c she felt it would be less likely for her to scratch the baby since her natural nails would break very easily.
