My first "appointment" today was a woman asking me all the same questions I filled out on the paperwork sent to me in the mail. Go back on Friday for a physical...I was really looking forward to an ultrasound and finding out how far along I (really) am. Just bummed

but I know it's better to wait to get one anyhow.

I'm due Oct 3rd and I had my first appt last Wednesday (5w6d) with an OB nurse. Sounds like it was the same as yours but I thought it was exciting. They did another pee test to confirm pregnancy, drew blood and gave me a freebie bag with lots of magazines and info on baby and pregnancy. I feel bad for all you having to wait so long for your first appt though! My ultrasound is this Wednesday (6w6d) and I'll see the doc Friday (7w)!

I made sure to call my OB this morning and confirm what to expect at my first appointment. I made sure there would be an u/s for a heartbeat so I wouldn't go in with expectations and be let down. Sorry you're bummed and have to wait. So far I've gathered that PG is a game of hurry up and wait. All the while worrying about everything under the sun. It's a beautiful thing.

My first appointment with the OB nurse was the same thing. Lots of information and lots of questions. I have lab work tomorrow and my first appt w/ultrasound isn't until 3/7. It's going to kill me to have to wait that long.

I actually wanted to wait for the first appointment. Since I'm ama, they wanted me to come in early, but I have a 37 day cycle. I don't want to go in too early and end up not seeing a hb, then having to wait a week to check again. that would be way more stressful than if I just wait

have my first appt 3/5 and will be 9 wks. I just confirmed with the nurse they will try & listen for the heartbeat but she told me not to expect to hear it since it will still be early, so we might not... This waiting is the worst!

My first appointment sounds like it is going to be pretty similar. With a physical appointment the following week. On the phone, the nurse was pretty adamant that I bring "my baby daddy"..

My appt is next week and it'll be boring as well... they just do a vagina exam and labs.I go at 10wks for the first ultra sound, it's killing me to wait especially since everyone has started posting theirs!

I have my first appointment on Thursday. It's with a nurse, doctor won't even be there. So I'm guessing it'll be a lot of questions and a pee test.

Just different then my last two pregnancies. I switched doctors, but always had an ultrasound at my first appointment. Oh well! Definitely a game of hurry up and wait! My miscarriage had just scarred me I think....this won't seem real until it's real.

Had my boring first appointment today too. Although I was relieved when they confirmed the pregnancy (Which is totally ridiculous because I took at least 10 tests). My next appointment isn't for another 4 weeks and that will be to hear the heartbeat not a sonogram. Can't wait to feel like I'm really pregnant. Funny how unless you can see it, feel it or hear it, it doesn't seem real.

I feel your pain! My doctor won't see me until 8 weeks, appt is 2/27. They wouldn't even do a blood test! All I have is a positive test at home. So anxious for this appointment!!!
