New Here--Help finding day care

There is a potential for me to be offered a job in Pittsburgh. I would have to move from where I am not and find a day care for my son.  I have been a stay at home mom since his birth and never had to deal with this. Can anyone help me with where to start. I need to figure out what I can expect the cost to be before I decide if the salary at the potential job is enough.. Thanks in advance.

Re: New Here--Help finding day care

  • Where would you live in Pittsburgh?  Downtown, South Hills, North Hills, East, West?  There are a ton of daycare options, it all depends on what is most convenient to you.  I live in the North Hills, and we found a good daycare for our infant (starting next Feb.) for $900 a month.  I have heard others have found daycare for infants for closer to $700 a month.  I'm not sure about prices for toddlers or older children, but I know it goes down the older they get.
