How did you get your DC off the meds?  I am wondering if Max is ready to be done with his Axid.  It's 9:30am right now here and this is much later than he usually takes his dose (he gets it 2x/day).  He's not upset at all at the moment.

I am not sure if going cold turkey is the best idea.  I can call the pedi, just wondered what your experiences are.  TIA

She didn't go off it until closer to 1 and she just kind of 'outgrew' it, in that she was getting bigger and they weren't upping her dose.

5 months is pretty early. DS is still on it and he's 8 months...however, I haven't increased his dosage in a while. I do find that he can go without his am dose for a day or two without a problem, but then he has a flair up and it's a rough couple of days to get the meds back to a good level. I would hold off weaning until he's upright most of the day. DS still does the belly crawl and is still spitting a bit, so I'm going to wait until he's crawling properly to wean him off of it.

Oh, and flair ups were how I knew with both DCs that they were not out of the woods yet. So if you want, you can see how long he can go without feeling discomfort, but I'm pretty sure he'll still need it.

We just weaned off it slowly.  We went to once a day for awhile and then every other day and then stopped all together. She had also started to outgrow her dosage...she'd gained quite a bit of weight, but we hadn't upped the meds for awhile.

DS came off Prevacid at six months, he was on it twice a day, we weaned him off,, by going to once a day, then every other day, and then every few days, until we stopped completely. DD on the other hand seems like she'll be be on the meds for a while, she seems to be having ?harder time then DS did.?
