Newbie question

I was just wondering if anyone used just one crib with your twins or multiples at first and then later bought another one?  I have been reading that its good to keep them together at first for a while.

Re: Newbie question

  • I have heard of people doing this; we went ahead and bought both cribs (found a great deal), but plan on having them sleep in the same one early on because I had heard also that it was good to keep them together. Of course, this is what is "planned", who knows what will happen once they get here, lol.

  • We are debating the same over the same Q---I posted awhile back with a similar Q and got back a mix of 1 crib vs. 2 responses. Most moms said that you can do 1 crib up until a certain point (if I remember right, some said like until 6 mo. or 8 mo. or I even said 11 mo. I think), but then they moved onto sep. cribs.

I currently am registered for 2 cribs but we'll see...we have very limited space and so I was hoping to do 1 crib but ended up considering a 2nd one if, in time, we inevitably have to get them separate ones.

  • One crib is our plan for awhile - maybe 5-6 months.  I'm getting this https://www.amazon.com/Leachco-Crib-Spacer-Divider-White/dp/B000056JH3/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1244427083&sr=8-1 to help that happen longer.  We have room issues that are preventing us from buying another crib right away.
  • We bought 2 right off the bat and thank goodness we did! One of my girls was a scooter since day one! They were only able to stay in one crib for a week or so once my smaller one got home from the NICU 9 days after they were born. HTH!
