no but that was my thought and hers. He just likes Jordan, and Michael is a family name, but she and I both had the same thought about it, so I wanted to see if anyone else did.

I like it - I think it sounds nice together, but yet it right off the bat reminded me of Michael Jordan. Of course I wonder how many of our kids will know who he is you know?
Jordan MIchael is my brothers name. I like it. I don't think that today many people are going to think of Michael Jordan as much as in the 90's. Even when he was born in the late 80's no one really mentioned it being like Michael Jordan.
In print, the first thing I think is Michael Jordan. But that said, how often do you ever know somebody's middle name? It seems like that's more of a family thing. He'll just be Jordan X to everyone else and the Michael Jordan thing won't really be an issue.
I do think the kids still know who Michael Jordan is, especially the inner city kids, but that may not apply to you. I don't think people generally use their middle name much, so it probably would not be a big deal, but when you hear it together, definitely conjures up the basketball legend. I also kind of agree that Jordan is a bit feminine now, but still could be used for a boy. Some names are just unisex.

Re: Jordan Michael
Growing Up Olson
Reminds me too much of Michael Jordan. If they really want to name their baby that they're nothing wrong with it.
Also our thoughts. She likes Jordan for a girl, but he only likes it for a boy. She hates it for a boy, especially with Michael.
i really prefer jordan as a girl's name.
michael will always sound like a fn to me.
this
Ditto. DH is good friends with a guy named Jordan and it just doesn't "fit" him because it sounds really feminine.?
Unfortunately this.
This.
This is what I was going to say. Now when I think of Jordan I think female.
