NBR: Does Frontier let you take your own food?

We are flying to San Fransisco in June, and I noticed when we booked that the site told us some airlines won't let you bring your own food on. Which is stupid since now even pretzels cost a small fortune on the plane. Does anyone know Frontiers rules about this?

Re: NBR: Does Frontier let you take your own food?

  • I fly a lot and I've never seen a domestic airline that won't let you bring your own food.

  • I used to fly a lot and still fly quite a bit and have never seen an airline prevent you from bringing food on the plane. The only issue would be bringing any sort of liquids past the security point so you may have to buy drinks and such at the airport.
  • Thanks ladies. I haven't flown for a year but knew things had changed - I thought that was a little crazy though. I'll give it a shot when I get there.
  • I have also never heard of an airline not allowing you to bring food (the exception being liquids). I was curious, because I ALWAYS bring food, so I checked Frontier's website and could not find any info about this. The TSA still prohibits liquids though the check point, unless it is baby formula, medicine, or for a medical need or disability. I think you can buy drinks once you are through the check point and bring those on the plane though.
