Fever question

DD has had a fever going up and down since at least Friday afternoon. ?It might actually have been earlier but I thought she was just teething so I kept giving her motrin without taking her temp. ?Have called the doctor and they said bring her in tomorrow if she still has symptoms. ?My question is - since I have now also gotten sick with a bad sore throat since Saturday with some hot/cold periods (but no documented fever) - is it safe to assume that DD also has been suffering from a sore throat?

?I am thinking it could be strep. ?But since DD also has had a runny nose and tons of drool since Friday (nonstop) I know they are going to say probably just a cold. ?I am not sure what I am really asking, just not sure what's going on b/c DD's never had a fever for this long. ?Also, slightly concerned about her urine output. ?

Re: Fever question

  • Isabelle has/had strep/tonsilitis... it isn't fun.  She was running high fevers, and really kinda freaked me out... Does she have a rash?  Alot of times, babies get strep rash (or so I am told).  I have just tried to continue to offer drinks to her that are COLD like water, juice, Pedylte, milk.  If they are rejected I try  again later... I would be very concerned if she didnt have several wet diapers in 12hrs.  Good luck!

  • Thank you! ?I have been keeping an eye out for a rash but no sign of one. ?But she has had a temp of 102.something at some point at each of the last 4 days. ?So tomorrow I am going to bring her in. ? I have been trying to give her cold drinks and ice cream! ?I think she has gotten a bit better as the day has gone on. ?Thanks. ?I hope Isabelle gets better soon!
