AF came early...LP 11days...

Morning! I woke up to find AF had come to celebrate Memorial Day Wkend with me. That's ok. So, my questions is about my LP. Is 11 days normal? I thought the norm was 14. ::off to research in TYCOF:: Hopefully all the IUD hormones a gone now and maybe we will get lucky with Cycle #2!

As for LP...it might have just been because your body is adjusting.  My doctor said that 14 was ideal...that's what they want...but it should definitely be at least 10.  But if it is constantly low then that's where they start wondering.  Does that make any sense?  Like most of mine were usually 9 or 10 and they didn't like that for me....in the 8 cycles we tried I only had one LP longer than 10 and it was 16 days...so they knew something was up.  But 11 for your first cycle off might very well just be due to the adjusting.

Thanks Candi. I guess you're right. I will keep an eye on it and look for a trend. Maybe this cycle will be the one for us! Nothing like AF to show up at the beginning of a long weekend though! Grrr!

I went back and looked at my first post-BCP chart.  MY LP was only 12 days that cycle, but averaged 15 days for the 3 cycles after that.  Maybe the hormones are just working their way out of your system.

well imo "normal" is different for every woman. 11 days is fine. i think from what i remember from TCOYF, a LP shorter than 9 days is something that you want to look into. i know there are things you can do to help increase your LP, such as taking vitamin B6, and i think TCOYF may go into some more things.

I'm no expert by any means but you know I've been saying this for a while - it's your first cycle off your IUD so I would just sort of wait and see what happens.  I'm sorry AF decided to show up.

My LP is always around 11 days, but then my cycles were typically 25 days so that's normal for me.  Your body is probably adjusting to ending whatever kind of birth control you just came off.
