Anyone have a Peg Perego P3?

I'm seriously considering this stroller, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on it? Since it is on the pricey side I just want to make sure I won't tire of it and switch to something even lighter weight like a Maclaren. Also, if you have the P3 did you use it as a travel system with an infant seat? If so, which infant seat did you get? I'm thinking about just getting the matching peg seat, but I'm not sure.

BTW, the P3 would be my mall/indoor use/travel stroller. I already have another stroller that is better suited for outside use.

Thanks!

Re: Anyone have a Peg Perego P3?

  • We've had one for the last three years and I LOVE it, and would buy it again.

Things that I like about it:

Fairly light weight and a great compact umbrella fold for such a sturdy stroller

Super-easy to steer, even with one hand

DS has been comfortable in it from infancy to  now as a preschooler

Bonus - can load it up with shopping bags, diaper bags, etc. and it doesn't tip easily :)  (I had no idea how great it was until I got our sit and stand stroller and can't put things on the handles - argh!)

We bought the matching peg carseat, but I don't know that I'd do that again b/c it was very, very heavy relative to other options AND most importantly the height limit was shorter than others available (DK if they've changed that in the last 4 years, but I wish I had paid attention to that more than anything else).  I'd probably buy a Graco or Britax infant seat if doing it again.

  • I have a P3, which I love.  It's fairly lightweight for a travel system stroller, handles well and folds easily.  We still use it now for walks around the block, but we did eventually buy another lightweight stroller (Chicco C5) for travel and the mall.

I used the Peg Perego infant seat in it, and it's HEAVY!  Otherwise, I have no complaints.

  • I loved my peg p3.  the canopy is awesome (I have the '06 model), it is lightweight. I never felt the need to get a lighter stroller.  I could open and close it one handed and pop it into the back of my small suv all while holding dd in my other arm.  only thing I didn't care for, basket access was from the front.  it was kind of weird.  not sure if it's still like that. you can store it standing upright, which is nice.. store it in the coat closet. ; )

now that we have two, since ds turned 9m/o, we have used a phil &ted sport with doubles seat. I love this stroller.  I miss the canopy of the peg, but the p&t moves so smoothly and is narrow for a double. it can be a double or a single and I 'd highly recommend it if you plan on having two close in age.  but it is not as light as the peg.  since getting the P&T I haven't used the peg much... but that's b/c I usually have both dc with me.  we do plan on using it for traveling next month and I occasionally use it when it's just me and ds out and about.  the canopy and how light it is were huge selling points.  they were top priorities for me when I was looking for my first stroller.

the infant seat is heavy and hot, but there is an accessory that came with the stroller so that you can attach other infant seats to it.

go play with them.  have fun shopping.

  • Love mine too, never got another stroller. ?Held up well, not too heavy, steers great.
