I've never been to a twins baptism, so I'm curious how everyone usually goes about it. The baptism is like a mini-wedding (banquet hall 200+ ppl---its very common, we did the same thing for DS), so do you go and cover your plate, like a wedding? Or, since there are 2 boys being baptized--do you double it or just give more? I usually give about $300 to someone close like them, I think double that is outrageous, but should I give something extra? I'm at a loss and not sure if there is some "unwritten" guideline that I dont know.. They're also family (well my Godparents grandchildren, but in the Orthodox religion that is family). Thanks ladies!
Re: Baptism for twins=double the gift?
$300 sounds like a lot to me. But then, we would give that for a Bar Mitzvah so I guess this may be the equivalent?
For 2 kids, I would give double what I would give one. If I could afford it, that is.
DMoney will be a kickass big sister
I normally just give baptismal gifts like frames or crosses, so I was going to say double the gift. I have never been to a baptism with 200+ people and recieving $300 gifts though! At most, we usually spend $30.
So, I would say just give them $150 each then.
That's VERY generous!
I don't expect gifts around here - and if we get them they're usually about $30 each.
