Sorry, I know this gets asked all the time...
Did u move cribs to separate rooms? I've been avoiding doing the Ferber thing but I'm realizing its my last resort. One of my girls screams on and off all night and cant get herself back to sleep. I wind up rocking her and sometimes bringing her into our room. Its getting to be too much. The big problem is she wakes her sister. My house isnt big, so my option would be to put my good sleeper in a PNP in our room. I feel like its not fair to her but it would be temporary.
How did anyone else handle this? Also, how long did you LO cry at 1st? I'm worried that my girl can cry for hours! Thanks
Re: If you Ferbered...
We started Ferber this month and ended up doing it one at a time. We worked with Gaby first and kept Alaina in the den until Gaby was asleep for the night. Now that she's got it down, we put Gaby to sleep in her PNP in the den and are working with Alaina in the cribs. Once she's down for the night, we put Gaby back in her crib. During the night, they fuss and usually soothe themselves back to sleep but it doesn't see to wake the other one up.
We let Gaby cry for 5 minutes, then 7, then 10 and with Alaina, we do 3 minutes, then 5, then 7, then 10 because she's a little more needy.
we did one at a time and put the other in a PNP in another room like pp said.
We have a very small house, and our one son is quite the screamer, so we put the pnp as far away as possible so our other son would still sleep good.
I believe ferber says no more than 45 minutes of crying. We have actually only done 1 son thus far, the other is a pretty good sleeper. But our other son it took 36 minutes the first night, 7 the next and silence the third. I thought for sure it would be an all night thing and much to our surprise he then STTN for the first time ever!
