So I'm stuck on Lorelai. I like it, with Lola as a nickname. I like having longer names to give her options. My question is, does Lorelai sound like a professional name or a little girls name? I want to make sure to give here a name that has options when she grows up, one of the reasons I can't bring myself to call her Lily (doesn't sound very adult to me.)
Re: Girl name help
I've found that most names grow up with the person.
I think Lola and Lorelai all sound like adult names too. Plus, if she really doesn't like it, she could alway just go by Lora. (FWIW, Lilly was DH's grandmother's name so I see it as an "old lady" name rather than a little girl's.)
I agree- names grow with people, IMO. You make it work for yourself.
My friend's daughter has this name and they call her just L for short (like Elle, I guess). So there's another option.
Love it.
And Lola works well :-)
Ditto. I would think Lori or Laura would be a nn. ?
hehee.... I don't think there is a strict rule for nicknames. If Bill can be a nickname for William I don't see why Lola can't be a nickname for Lorelai.
