Do any of these wholesalers offer a trial membership? Is there a surcharge for shopping there? I just checked on BJ's and it looks like they have a 3-day trial but there is a 15% surcharge when checking out.
Anyone know of a free trial, that is ACTUALLY free... and with no surcharge, you tried yourself or know about?
Thanks!

Re: Q about Costco, BJ's and Sams Club Membership
I just got a thing in the mail yesterday for a free 60 day trial @ BJ's. You're welcome to it if you want. If so, send me a PM with your name and address.
I don't know about the surcharge. I am on my mom's membership, so I didn't bother to read the details.
Take the free 60 day trial at BJs. There is no hidden anything-no fee etc.
BJ's is slightly better than Costco, imho becuase you can use manufacturers coupons and stack them with in house coupons.
I know that at Sam's Club and Costco if you buy a membership and decide you don't want it you can return it. Up until the day it expires. I use to work at Sam's Club membership desk and people did it all the time. I know that Sam's offers a day pass, but it has a 10% upcharge.
I am a member of Sam's Club and Costco, I use Sam's Club a lot more than Costco. Sam's Club has the cheapest generic formula by a long shot.
I've been a member of both Costco and BJ's. IMO BJ's is much better for a couple of reasons: they send out coupons and accept manufacturer's coupons and they offer merchandise that is not in bulk size. I keep my BJs membership for the money I save in milk alone (I'm a milk fiend) and it's right next to our regular grocery store, so I'm not going out of my way to get there.
I know I didn't answer your original question, but I thought I'd share
