Could your dad find something on this menu to eat?

I would love to take my mom out to a beautiful victorian mansion for mother's day brunch.  Problem is, my dad is quite a bit older (read: old school) and kind of a "man's man" sort of guy.  He does not like anything "prissy"   He likes his eggs runny with a huge slab of bacon.  So I am worried that he would not enjoy this place.  Unfortunately, if he is not happy, nobody is going to be happy. 

OK, to be blunt, I'm not sure when it happened, but he has turned into a crotchety old man.  OK, there, I said it.  If your dad is also a crotchety old man, would he find something to eat on this menu or would he just sit there and pout?

Country fried steak? If you're worried about it, is there any way you could just make it a girls brunch?

I think this looks great!  Would your mom like it, that is the important question.  I think it is so nice you want to do this for her.  Your Dad should be happy with the biscuts and gravy and eggs.  If not, he can put up with it, to make your mom happy on HER day.  BTW, my Dad is the same & I would just say, "look here Dad, this is the deal...be happy".

My dad is obsessed with health food, so no red meat, eggs, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, blah, blah, blah. What is "white" salmon?

Any way you can just do it with your mom?  I would hate to even risk someone ruining it for me.

My DH isn't crotchety, but he is an old school breakfast fan too. He would be perfectly happy with the country fried steak and sausage gravy and eggs. And cinnamon rolls. He would laugh at the baked egg high hats and anything involving devonshire cream.

That sounds like a lovely brunch!
