Any ideas for a Elmo themed 1st birthday party?  Looking for good deals on decor and plates, napkins, etc too. There will be about 6 2ish year olds and about 5 1ish year olds.

they have Elmo/Sesame Street stuff @ Target. ?We did E's 2nd bday party Elmo and I pretty much got everything there.

Holy Crap!  Just looked online at Target and their party stuff is expensive $50 for a party set of plates, napkins, etc for only 8 people.  We will have 33 people....that is insane!

Look in the store. The pricing is different than Target.com. Do you have a Dollar Tree near you? Sometimes they have Elmo or Sesame Street party decor there.

If you want it to be cheap, just get red/blue/green/yellow plates, cups, table cloths and napkins. You can add your own Elmo stickers to the plates and cups and decorate with primary-colored balloons and streamers. If the party is at home, you can look for Elmo vinyl wall stickers to put up on the walls. We did this for Ben's Curious George party and it looked darling.

Not trying to be cheap but 200 bucks just for the plates napkins cups was too much.  Maybe I can search around....I will check the dollar store.  Amazing how expensive birthday parties can get even when you try to keep them small and cheap!

I didn't mean "cheap" to sound negative! I'm insanely cheap when it comes to parties!!! I planned my DD's whole color-scheme around the $9.99 party-pack they have at Costco. I think it's silly to spend money on stuff people cover with food and then throw away, kwim? I just meant, if you want to spend less on paper products, buy the solid colored ones and decorate them with stickers.

I just found everything I needed from one seller on ebay where I could buy individually and not packaged....so I got enough for 33 people of the cool themed for 1st birthday elmo Plates, Napkins, 1 tablecover, banner, wall decor, photo album, party game, and sculpted candles for $51!!!!!
