heart murmur..

Just got back from the doctors and she said she thinks she hears a heart murmur...I always kind of thought it was pretty normal for babies to have a heart murmur but she wants me to get an ultra sound to check for heart abnormalities...so now im freaking out! Anyone else have this happen?

    One of my coworkers has 3 kids (4th on the way) and all of them had heart murmurs in-utero and have turned out to be just fine!

    My husband has a life-long "innocent heart murmur." He lives a completely normal life and is extremely active. So if LO is born with one, don't worry.

    Also, I used to work for a pediatric cardiology clinic. While I don't have a background in the field, I do know that many, many of the fetuses or newborns that were checked and followed for murmurs had the issue resolve itself or be diagnosed as an innocent murmur.

    I had a heart murmur at birth and it closed up.  I'm very athletic and have had no issues in my life...
