Question about bottles

Hello! I am a mom of preemie twins and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it is safe to buy used bottles (and sterlize them) or if there is a health risk with using used bottles.

a friend gave me her medela bottles that I can attach right to my pump.  she also gave me nipples that were in the package still, and some she said were opened but unused.  I sterilized all of it and will use it.  Used bottles, I'm fine with, used nipples... I don't know. But, depending on how often you use them, nipples don't last forever anyway.
