My husband *was* a supervisor at Best Buy up until today. They "restructured" and eliminated his postion, also eliminating $6/hour from his pay-rate. He lost his management-title and has been bumped to full-time. He, along with the other 6 supervisors were all vying for 2 sup. postions they were keeping open and he found out today that he didn't get one. It's SUCH bullshit. He's been there the longest, has worked in almost every department and has done amazingly well in his nearly 5 years at the store. He is OK with the decision, but I am freaking out. This will cut his income by over $400 a month!
The good news is that he'll keep his current pay until June. Best Buy has offered them an option to recieve a lump-sum payment totalling 38-hours of their former pay each quarter for the rest of the year with the hope that it will cushion the financial impact for us and keep them happy enough to stay. At least he still has a job, right? At least we're still getting something. There's a chance that I'll lose my job once I have my baby and there's no guarantee that I will even make what I'm making now, let alone bring in the missing money if I have to find something new. I know we can figure this out and make it work. It just sucks. We're already so broke as it is. $400/month us A LOT to us.
Re: Nooooooooooo......
I'm so sorry Purrf! That is so hard to stomach, I know. DH and I have had our trials... we own our own business, so it's up to my DH to bring in the money, and it's pretty hard sometimes, especially since we have lost some big accounts in the past. So I know how hard it is to just sit back and have faith that everything is going to be OK. But, I am sure that everything will work out for you guys. It's amazing how creative you can get when things get tough and you have to make it work. I'll say some prayers for you guys!!! ((((HUGS))))
I'm sorry. ?This economy is rotten.
?
Ikeep telling myself-- because we are in a similar situation--
::it could be worse, it could be worse, it could be worse::
