I can't stand it

when:

1.People speed through the neighborhood.  I'm not talking about the highway but our small little residential neighborhood.  Unless you're going to the emergency room,  is it really necessary?

2. People let their dogs run off leash.  Three times in the past month or so I've been pushing DS in the stroller & here comes a charging dog.  Well, I don't know the dog & the dog doesn't know me, Who's to say it's going to be a friendly encounter. 

Just wanted to get that off my chest.

These are big pet peeves of mine as well... although DD LOVES dogs- anytime she sees one or hears them bark she'll start laughing.

I'm the queen of giving nasty looks to drivers speeding by while we're on a walk. We live in a very residential neighborhood and have 3 different schools on our street- but people continue to do 35 on a 15 mph road. If only my nasty look would leave a lasting impression on their driving habits.

I can't help you with the speeding drivers while your walking or the dogs but maybe I can with the drivers going by your house.

I am getting some of those signs that say 'slow, children playing' or whatever. I am going to set them out in the road, not my driveway, the road. If I set them out into the street like 3-4 feet then they will be forced to slow down before they get to my house. I plan on maybe 3. One to one side and one to the other and one right in front of my driveway. I have seen people who set these out in the road while their kids are outside and nobody complains I have a 5 year old as well so it's not like he is just sitting in the grass with me, he is running all over the place and riding his bike/scooter/skateboard and I don't need people going too fast to pay attention.
