The ergo is amazing! It doesn't hurt my back or shoulders and distributes her weight well. I've recently been using it in the side carrier position and it's been equally comfy. I didn't start using the ergo until DD was about 4 month old though. The first 3 she lived in the moby....LIVED IN IT!

This would be my exact response, I use the Ergo everyday and love it... as well as the moby when he was younger. i have never heard of a pikkolo though
We're looking into getting a Pikkolo because I've heard awesome things about them. FYI about the Ergo- you can't wear the baby on your front facing out. DD absolutely refused to go in the Bjorn facing towards me, so I'm glad we didn't get the Ergo, as we wouldn't have been able to use it.
I have the Pikkolo and I love it. You can wear your LO front facing in the proper seated position (not hanging from their croch) and really young babies legs out because of the cinch detail. My DS hated being froggied/swaddled so I couldn't use any of the other carriers. There is a different though since the Pikkolo is typically worn apron style (like a mei tai) and the waist isn't padded/
He's now 27.5 inches and 18 pounds and he still feels comfortable. There's the option of an additional waist belt to help distribute the weight to your hips (I use that now).
