And mh just got a ticket for talking on his cell phone to me and driving :(

He told the state trooper, "I was talking to my wife, she just had a baby yesterday morning and she was telling me what she wants me to pick up for her breakfast!  Are you really going to give me a ticket?"  Sure enough...hopefully the judge will have sympathy on us.  I know it was illegal that he was driving and talking to me, but come on, cut us a break, right? :)

Yes you're not supposed to do that but in some cases, I would think they'd have a heart.

  • He couldn't pull over? With a new baby at home he should be extra careful while driving.

  • Sorry, I have to side w/ the cop on this one.  If you were in labor and your DH was talking you through it I might be ok with it.  But he was getting your breakfast order.  He could pull over to do that.  It still sucks that he got a ticket though!

Just curious, did they pull him over only because of the cell phone?  I know the law is different in every state but I know a lot of them treat it like the seatbelt law.  In WI they can ticket you for not wearing your belt but only if the pull you over for something else like speeding.  Is the cell phone law the same?  If not they must be really bored to be pulling over people just because they are on their phones!

  • Oh come on, you don't get to break the law because you are getting breakfast for your wife who just had a baby. It's still illegal and unsafe to yourself and others to talk on a cell phone while driving.
