Is it wrong of me?

To be totally stoked that my husband has plans tonight and I get the house all to myself.  I love him, but sometimes a girl just needs some quiet.  Did I mention the new couch and juicy steak that are calling my name too?  Plus, some quality snuggle time with my dogs.  I feel bad...but just a little.

  • I'm with you girl. ?My DH moved here from Florida to marry me and doesn't have any friends of his own yet..I'm starting to wish he'd start volunteering or playing softball or bowling or something, because I went from living in a 1BR apt with my dogs to being with him nonstop. ?I adore him like no other, but yes, I feel ya.?

  • Definitely not wrong - I did the same thing when DH was out last night, made a LONG list of all the things I wanted to do...he came home too soon! :)

  • Nope not at all.  DH is going out of town next weekend and I'm soooo looking forward to some alone time with my fur babies, couch, and remote.
  • Oh good, I feel better :)  I love him, but you all get it!

  • Hell no!  I love having alone time...and it rarely happens.  My DH goes out of town on business a few times a year, and it's great!  I don't cook all week, I eat out all the time....watch whatever I want on tv (which I do anyways)..and cuddle with my doggies too!  It's nice to have some time to yourself.  And it makes you miss him after awhile...like after 3 or 4 days of him being gone, I start to miss him, and when he comes home, I think I appreciate him being there more.

  • Not wrong of you at all!  My DH and I can both totally admit that sometimes we need our own time...I love his nights out with the guys-- I snuggle up with my dog and watch whatever I want on tv or I nest...ahhhh.
  • Officially my answer is no.

I can't entirely stick to that, though, because DH has work and school every night except Monday and I would LOVE to be able to spend one whole day with him. Every time we try to make it work, it falls apart. Last time I took a vacation day when he was on Spring Break, and lo and behold his cousin was in from out of town. We hadn't seen her in about a year, maybe a little more, so we had to visit with her.

So no, it's not wrong, but don't take it for granted when he's there, either.

  • I feel this way too when DH has plans.  Also he is diabetic so when I don't have to cook dinner and I can carb-out I celebrate!
